Lip Enhancement

What is Hyaluronic Acid?

Hyaluronic Acid is a natural sugar molecule found in your skin that attracts water to provide volume and hydration. Dermal fillers such as Juvederm, Teosyal, and Belotero are a sterile gel which contains hyaluronic acid that has been cross-linked to make it last longer.

What can lip filler treat?

Dermal filler can be used to enhance the lips by adding or replacing lost volume, correcting asymmetry and creating definition of the lip border.

Does it hurt?

Dr. Christine only uses dermal fillers that also contain a local anaesthetic to make the procedure more comfortable. In addition topical anaesthetic cream can be applied prior to treatment to numb the skin to minimise discomfort.

Is it safe?

Dermal fillers are safe, but not risk free. Dr.Christine will discuss all the risks and benefits with you at consultation.

Am I suitable for treatment?

Lip filler treatments are not suitable if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. A detailed medical history will be taken to ensure that you have no conditions that might increase the risk of unwanted side-effects. The consultation is also important to discuss your expectations and whether or not this treatment is able to meet them.

When will I see results?

The results of lip enhancement will be immediate. The lips will appear a little swollen straight after the procedure and will swell more over the next 48 hours. The final result is usually around 2 weeks after treatment.

How long will the lip filler last?

Lip filler usually lasts around 6 to 9 months.

When can I book my appointment?

All new patients will need to book an initial consultation with Dr.Christine and this can be booked online. When choosing your appointment for treatment, please ensure that you have no important social events in the 2 weeks after your treatment and will not be travelling abroad for 2 weeks after your treatment. In addition, please ensure that you do not have any dental or hygienist appointments or vaccinations a month before or a month after your dermal filler appointment.

Minimum age for lip filler treatment is 21 years.
